Go the Extra Mile
There are no shortcuts to proving what you’re worth. To really wow your supervisors, you’ll have to put in time and effort. That means coming in early, staying late, doing what’s asked of you to the best of your ability, and looking for ways to do things better than they’ve been done in the past. And all this with a positive attitude and energy that keeps you and others around you motivated.
Did no one volunteer to serve on the quality assurance task force? Step up to the plate. Did someone forget to prepare the agenda for the next staff meeting? Offer to finish it–and do so, in record time. Your boss will notice these gestures and remember them when it’s time for your review. And don’t forget–keep a written record of everything you’re working on.
