Social Security — Part VII

The process by which you collect your Social Security is effected by divorce. As long as you have been married for at least ten years and don’t remarry, you can qualify for SS benefits based on you ex spouse’s earnings when you reach age sixty-two, even if he has remarried or hasn’t yet retired. To receive benefits you must be divorced at least two years.
