Sample Thank-You Notes
When asked, 75% of interviewers said that receiving a thank-you note after an interview affected their decision making process. It’s important to go the extra mile and show the company that this is the position for you. It’s suggested that a thank-you note be sent by e-mail within 24 hours of the interview while the candidate is still fresh in the interviewer’s head. In the past, it was encouraged to send a handwritten letter as well, but with the technology we have in place, by the time a letter arrives, it will most likely be too late.

More Detailed Thank-You Letter:
Dear Ms. Johannsen:
Thank you for taking the time to meet with me yesterday to discuss the accounting position with SooperToober.com. I especially appreciated your insight into the additional skills necessary for an employee in the accounting department in order to perform her job successfully.
I have enclosed a copy of a two-page report I wrote for my financial analysis class at Dodkins College. In light of your emphasis on communication skills, I wanted to demonstrate that in addition to being able to perform all the financial elements required of the accounting position, I am also an excellent writer.
I am even more certain after our conversation that I can make a valuable contribution to the accounting team at SooperToober.com. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Linda Jones
