Carefully consider why you might want to invest in junk bonds. Most people invest in bonds as a means of diversifying a portfolio with a more conservative asset class. Junk bonds do not serve this purpose, as they are as risky or even more so than some stocks. If you’re looking for a higher risk, higher-growth potential investment, you may want to look elsewhere. Junk bonds are not for rookie investors.
